We tried to be the best host we can with whatever little amenities we have. The Lord said that if you provide even a glass of water to a servant of God then you will not lose your reward. Its a great thing to be of service to the ministry of the Gospel even in this way.
The good Bp requested that if it is possible, a larger copy of the customary be provided him to compensate for his vision. I made one from the soft copy sent by Sis. Alice last June or July.
The choir practice started early with the dancers and was continued after the Saturday Vigil.
The Mass proceeded smoothly with few glitches. Madi Marlyn was visibly nervous reaidng the proclamation. I erred in the initial part of the singing of the Gloria Excelsis. I thought it would just be all recital but the bishop said all fixed songs should be sung.
The sermon was long and confrontational. that was all we needed to cure us of all our complacency.
The good Bp then said that he will not be celebrating mass in our currently rented place and will not come back if we will not look for a more appropriate place for worship. What a challenge.
The after-mass celebration was at Bacon beach which was a far cry from the old, serene, clean and wonderful place. Its now littered with plastic thrashes and washed out sea weeds. Only the children enjoyed the waters. The old ones enjoyed the games prepared by the youth.
Eyah went back to Manila at about 4 pm.
Fr. A and Dcn Alex came after supper to have a short celebration of sort.
The priest bible lesson followed the next day. Fr. Dadz finished his report of Chapter 4 of the book by Dr. Chan. In the afternoon, there was no reporting anymore but a meeting and another mini-celebration.
The Bp and his team left Sorsogon at 4 am the next day.
I was assigned to make a summary of the whole book. OMG!
Thanks be to God for the opportunity to serve Him in His church.
